Frequently Asked Questions

The first step to becoming a clinical affiliate with Marieb College is to click on the green “complete inquiry” button below or feel free to click here. Once you complete this inquiry, the Coordinator of Clinical Affairs will contact you and set up meetings with the appropriate clinical staff member from the program(s) you wish to support. These meetings help ensure that the partnership will be viable based on your needs and program requirements. After all parties agree that the partnership is mutually beneficial, an official affiliation agreement will be emailed out for electronic review and electronic signatures.

Each partner affiliate determines their availability to take on students each semester or academic year. We only ask that if you commit to taking on student and they begin their rotation with you, that they are allowed to finish that rotation or we are given enough time to find another placement option for that student.

An affiliation agreement is made effective on the date of the last signature by the Dean of the College and is valid until either party submits notice to terminate the agreement as stated in IV d. of the agreement.

This Agreement may be terminated by either party with ninety (90) days prior written notice provided the notice period does not interfere with a Student practice experience.  If the notice period extends past the beginning of the term, then the notice will be waived so long as some notice was given. 

FGCU does not require students to get the COVID-19 vaccine. However, an increasing number of our clinical partners are adding the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of onboarding requirements students must meet before beginning their clinical rotations. Many of these sites are acute care and specialty sites that are critical to the learning experience and help fulfill the overall needs of the program requirements.

FGCU continues to monitor legislative updates and judicial proceedings regarding vaccine mandates. Marieb College of Health & Human Services is working with our community partners on their application of COVID-19 vaccine requirements, as those are addressed by legislation and judicial proceedings, and how the COVID-19 vaccine requirements will be addressed in a clinical internship. At this time, it is the responsibility of our students to request any vaccination exemptions that may be allowed by our clinical partners.

FGCU does not require students to get the COVID-19 vaccine. However, most programs in the Marieb College of Health & Human Services require clinical training, and an increasing number of our clinical partners require the COVID-19 vaccine for staff, students and volunteers. Foregoing the COVID-19 vaccine may interfere with your opportunities to obtain clinical training, which could delay or impede your ability to graduate.
