Member Services

Both the Aquatics Center and University Recreation & Wellness Center have a number of items for daily checkout.

• Items include kickboards, swim paddles, pull buoys, basketballs, volleyballs, badminton racquets, pickleball paddles, jump ropes, weight belts, resistance bands, and more.
• Stop by the front desk with your Eagle ID and let the staff know what you need! Please pay attention to the label on your item and return what you checked out by the end of the day, or fees may be applied.

URWC Towel Service 

There are two sizes of towels available for checkout at the URWC: small hand towels, and large shower towels. 

• These towels can only be utilized by those with towel service. 
• You may checkout as many towels as you like, just ask the Front Desk! Please return your towel(s) at the Front Desk by the end of the day. 
• Towel service is only valid at the URWC. 

Aquatics Center Towel Service

This service allows you to checkout a large shower towel for daily use at the Aquatics Center.

• Simply check out a towel at the front desk and return it when you are finished.
• The towel service comes FREE with a locker service. A locker service can be purchased in person at the Aquatics Center.

 Aquatics Center Locker Service 

Lockers in the men's and women's locker rooms at the Aquatics Center are available for daily use if members provide their own locks. 

• Lockers can also be purchased or rented for a cost. 
• Only half lockers are available at the Aquatics Center.
• Towel service is included.  

URWC Locker Service

Lockers inside the men's and women's locker rooms at the URWC are only available to those with locker service. 

• There are three sizes of lockers available for purchase: 1/3 lockers, half-sized lockers, and full length lockers. 
• Free towel service is included. 
• Your items do not need to be cleared out until your locker service expires, and you receive free towel service with your locker! No lock or key is needed - just remember your 4-digit code. If you only need a locker for the day. there are plenty of 1/3 lockers throughout the rest of the facility at no cost, but items must be cleared at the end of the day or they will be placed in lost and found. 

• All memberships are non-transferable.
• University Recreation & Wellness facilities are closed periodically due to University holidays, annual maintenance, and unexpected closures or severe weather; fees are not pro-rated during those time periods.
• All requests for cancellations and/or refunds must be formally submitted in person at the Aquatics Center or URWC Membership Office, or through email to urecwell@fgcu.edu
• Refunds are granted under the following circumstances:
  • member has separated their employment from the University
  • member will be moving out of the area
  • member has documented medical circumstances that will not allow them to use the membership
• Refunds are issued on a prorated basis; and, are paid only for the remainder of the term of the membership period. A $40 processing charge will be deducted from the refund amount. 
• Membership charges will be fully refunded if cancelled within 72 hours of purchase. 
• No refunds will be awarded if member has been suspended due to a University Recreation & Wellness or University policy violation during current term.
• One month memberships are not eligible for refunds.
• A member who receives a refund must pay membership charges accordingly if wishing to rejoin.
• Automatic payment memberships will be billed on the 15th of every month. Charges may not be visible on your account for 2-3 days. 
• If your auto-pay membership has missed payments for three (3) consecutive months, you will have five (5) business days from the most recent billing date to:
  • Confirm that you wish to continue your membership, and
  • Pay the outstanding balance in full.
  If we do not receive both confirmation and payment within this 5 business-day period, we will assume you no longer wish to maintain your membership, and it will be automatically cancelled.

• University Recreation & Wellness requires a submission of a completed Membership Cancellation Form in order for a membership to be cancelled. These can be submitted in person, or through email to Jenny Louisa, Facility Operations & Membership Sales Coordinator, at jlouisa@fgcu.edu 
• Automatic payment memberships require a 14-day notice for cancellation to avoid being billed on the 15th of the month. 
• All one year memberships and automatic payment memberships will be charged a $40 fee if cancelled within the first year of enrollment. 
• Phone calls will not be accepted as a form of cancellation.

• If a member wishes to place their membership on hold, a completed Membership Cancellation or Hold Form must be submitted no later than 14 days before the hold start date.
• If notification is not given within 14 days, University Recreation & Wellness will start the hold 14 days from the submission date.
• An annual membership may be placed on hold, for a period no less than 30 days, and for up to 90 days per calendar year. This may be waived for medical or military reasons.
• Upon the completion of a maximum hold, billing will begin again pursuant to the annual membership agreement.
• There will be a $10 processing fee associated with each 30-day hold.

University Recreation & Wellness Guest Passes: 

• Guests must be 18 years of age or older and must present photo ID to purchase guest pass.
• Guests must adhere to all facility policies and/or direction of University Recreation & Wellness staff. Sponsors of sponsored guests share the responsibility for their guests’ behavior.
• Guests may participate in Group Fitness classes. 
• Guests may not participate in Intramural Sports. 
• Guest passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

Aquatics Center Passes:

• Guests must present photo ID to purchase guest pass. 
• Children under 13 years of age must be under indirect adult supervision (adult must be present in facility).
• Children under 5 years of age must be in direct contact with an adult at all times.
• Guests must adhere to all facility policies and/or direction of University Recreation & Wellness staff. 
• Guest passes are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Can I purchase a membership to the gym for my child? 

We do not sell memberships for anyone under 18 for the following facilities: the University Recreation & Wellness Center, SoVi Pool, or Waterfront. The only facility that allows persons under 18 is the Lee County/FGCU Aquatics Center. 

I don’t want to use the gym, but my spouse does. Do I have to buy a membership?

Yes. The FGCU Affiliate membership is a sponsored membership. A qualifying membership must be purchased first before or at the same time as the Plus 1 Adult membership.

Can I play Intramural Sports if I have a membership on a monthly basis? 

Faculty & Staff members have access to all corresponding privileges as long as their membership is current at the time of participation, regardless if it is purchased on a monthly or annual basis. FGCU Affiliates and Guests may not participate in Intramural Sports.   

Can First Year Alumni members play Intramural Sports? 

Memberships in the FGCU Affiliates or Early Eagles category are not eligible to play Intramural Sports or register for RecVentures trips. 

I graduated 2 years ago from FGCU. What are my membership options? 

The Lee County/FGCU Aquatics Center Community membership is the only option. The University Recreation & Wellness Center is available for Alumni only within their first year after graduation.

I’m a staff member taking classes. Do I still have to purchase a membership? 

If you are using the FGCU Human Resources benefit of a tuition waiver, then yes. If you are paying tuition and fees, then you do not have to purchase a membership since your membership is covered by payment of A&S fees. 

• Memberships must be purchased online through the Rec Store or in person at the Lee County/FGCU Aquatics Center, Prevention & Wellness Office, or the University Recreation & Wellness Center during business hours. If you are unable to visit the University Recreation & Wellness offices during business hours, please email Jenny Louisa, Facility Operations & Membership Sales Coordinator, at jlouisa@fgcu.edu to schedule an appointment.
• Renewal of memberships can be completed online or in person prior to expiration date. If a membership has expired, you will need to visit one of the University Recreation & Wellness offices. 
• Monthly memberships are valid one month from date of purchase.
• Annual memberships are valid one year from date of purchase.
• University Recreation & Wellness accepts credit card and Apple Pay.

• Month-to-Month: membership expires each month and must be renewed in person or online each month.
• Yearly: membership expires after one year and must be renewed in person or online each year. 
• Automatic Payment: Memberships are charged at the monthly rate, but do not expire. Credit/debit cards will be billed automatically on the 15th of each month.
