The Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) program is designed with a dedicated focus on the hospitality industry. It emphasizes industry-relevant knowledge and practices, preparing students for careers in hospitality by covering all facets of the field from an applied, real-world perspective. Core business disciplines such as Management, Marketing, Accounting, and Finance are taught by SRHM faculty with emphasis on hospitality. Students are not required to complete the Business Common Core and some of the Business Common Prerequisites.
- Includes 57 credit hours in hospitality-specific coursework with a wide range of electives in tourism, event planning, and guest experience.
- Students complete two 500-hour internships
The curriculum, developed by academic and industry leaders, delivers the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for graduates to build successful careers in the hospitality and tourism industry through an applied, hands-on curriculum that includes two 500-hour internship experiences. Graduates will understand the key strategies executed by hospitality and tourism employers to deliver value to stakeholders, including employees, guests, investors, and society. Hospitality & Tourism Management graduates pursue careers in myriad segments of the industry, including, but not limited to, hotels and resorts; meetings, conferences, and special events; commercial and non-commercial food service operations; destination marketing organizations; convention centers, arenas, and event venues; private clubs; and theme parks.
