Tuition Waiver Guidelines

• Consideration is given to applications submitted during these periods:

  Fall:  April 15 to July 15 
  Spring: September 1 to November 15 
  Summer: January 15 to April 1 

• Students residency status will be checked for each student application.
• Graduate tuition waiver support is awarded through the colleges/schools. Submitting a waiver application does not guarantee support. Check with your graduate program coordinator regarding award status. 
• Tuition waivers do not cover undergraduate courses or any fees.
• Students must reapply every semester to renew tuition support.
• Tuition support  shall not exceed the number of hours required to complete the graduate program.
• Approval of this award does not imply eligibility for financial assistance from the university, the state, or the federal government.
• Awards may vary each semester due to budget availability.
• Failure to fulfill any of the award criteria will result in the tuition support amount being withdrawn/reduced. The student may be subject to repayment to the university for the amount of the award.
• Students on academic probation are not eligible for tuition support.
• Graduate students receiving VA Chapter 35 DEA program benefits are not eligible for further in-state tuition support.
• Graduate in-state tuition waivers cannot be combined with graduate out-of-state tuition waivers in the same semester.
• Out-of-state tuition waivers are only offered to students enrolled as full time students (9 cr. hr. Fall or Spring).

Tuition Support applications are reviewed by individual graduate programs. Graduate Studies does not make the awards. Check with your graduate program for tuition waiver support status.

APPLY NOW: FALL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Application open for Graduate Studies Scholarship Fall: April 1 to July 15  Spring: September 1 to November 15  Summer: January 15 to March 15

 To apply for the Graduate Studies Scholarship:

• Students must submit a complete application by the deadline date; incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
• Eligible students must be admitted to an FGCU degree-seeking Master's or Doctoral program by the scholarship application deadline.
• Awards are determined based on student financial need as calculated by the results of their FAFSA application and/or through supplemental information provided by the student.
• Students must be enrolled in at least 6 Master's or Doctoral credit hours by the end of the add/drop period (1st week of classes) to receive this scholarship.
• Applicants must be willing to represent FGCU's Graduate programs by volunteering for at least two Graduate Studies events (Orientation, Open House, Research Day, Graduate School Fair, etc.).
• This scholarship is only for one semester and not guaranteed in subsequent semesters. Students should submit a new application every semester to be considered for a new award.
