First Time In College Student Orientation

Welcome Class of 2028

We could not be more excited to welcome you to FGCU. Orientation is an opportunity to meet new and current students, learn important information for starting college successfully, and ask any questions you may have.

Upcoming Orientation

First Time in College (FTIC) students admitted for the Spring 2025 semester will attend a one-day Eagle View Orientation program in December 2024 or January 2025. Registration is now open.

First Time in College (FTIC) students admitted for the Summer or Fall 2025 semesters will attend a two-day Eagle View Orientation program in May-July 2025. Registration for these orientation programs will open in February 2025.

How To Register

Registering for Orientation is as easy as 1-2-3!

1. Keep an eye on your email- Admitted students will receive an email with information about next steps.

2. Activate your Eagle Email - This is your official student account that will be used for your FGCU email and more.

3. Enroll in to 2 Factor Authentication (Duo Mobile)- Enrolling in two-factor authentication is mandatory for all students and provides an additional layer of security that guards your personal information in our University systems.

4. In order to accept your offer of admission, you must log into your Future Eagle Account and answer your Decision Reply question. This is located on the Home tab of your Future Eagle Account, at the right-hand column under "Forms."

After accepting your offer of admission, you will be able to submit your $200 non-refundable deposit. To submit your Admission Deposit, navigate to the Home tab on your Future Eagle Account. From there, look for "Payment Due" and select Submit Payment for $200.00 USD.

5. Once your admission deposit has been processed, you will receive an email from orientation@fgcu.edu to complete your orientation registration and will be able to register for an orientation session date.

Orientation Dates

All incoming FTIC students admitted for the spring semester will attend a one-day, in-person orientation program. Registration for these dates are based on a first-come-first-served basis.

Cost of Orientation

Spring 2025: Students are charged a $35.00 orientation fee which covers materials, staffing, lunch, and associated program costs.

Summer/Fall 2025: Students are charged a $35.00 orientation fee which covers materials, staffing, and associated program costs. Additionally, the two-day overnight orientation program for first-year students includes additional costs for housing, meals (dinner on Day 1, Breakfast on Day 2), refreshments, and first year programming. The total student charge is $110.

Please note that all orientation fees are non-refundable. If the student cannot afford this charge, please contact our office at 239-590-7875 or orientation@fgcu.edu.

We know you're probably still curious about what to expect and how to prepare for your Eagle View Orientation program. The checklist below is designed to introduce you to some important information, answer some basic questions before you arrive on campus, and ensure that you are prepared for your orientation experience!

Complete the Pre-Orientation Virtual Modules

This first step in your orientation process is to complete the pre-orientation virtual modules. These modules will introduce you to foundational information about important requirements, opportunities, and resources at FGCU. These modules will also introduce you to critical information regarding course registration. This step must be completed prior to meeting with your academic advisor and registering for your first semester of classes.

To get started, log-in with your FGCU e-mail and password at evo.fgcu.edu.
Submit Your Immunization Records

You will NOT be able to register for classes if your immunization records have not been received and processed by Student Health Services. Please log into your Student Health Portal to verify your current immunization status. You may be compliant due to Florida Shot records being uploaded automatically into the Student Health Portal. Please visit the immunization website for more information.

To submit your records for processing, please visit fgcu.studenthealthportal.com fill out the electronic “Immunization History Form” (located in MY FORMS at the top of the portal) then scroll down to upload.

To check your holds, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to Gulfline

2. Click on Student and Financial Aid

3. Click on Student Records

4. Click “View Holds” – If you do not seen an Immunization Hold, then the hold has been removed.

Orientation does not receive or process Immunization records.

Declare Your Residency

Residency classification is a state-mandated requirement that must be submitted upon admission. Please log into your Future Eagle Account to complete the residency form. Click the "View" link in the Action column next to your submitted application to view your list of supplemental items. You can then click on "Start" for the Florida Residency for Tuition Purposes Form.
Submit Your Photo for Your Eagle ID

The steps to upload and obtain your Eagle ID are as follows:
- - - Log into the FGCU eAccounts with your Eagle Email and Eagle Email Password
      
      NOTE: You can upload your new ID photo within the eAccounts app. Download from the Apple Store or Google Play Store searching for ‘Transact eAccounts.’ Set Florida Gulf Coast University as the school page and log in with FGCU Single Sign On
    - Click on Profile and then select "Click to Submit a New Photo"
      
      NOTE: If using eAccounts app, click on the Settings icon to go to ‘Manage Account’ and then click on ‘Submit ID Photo’
    - Read and complete all photo submission requirements. A form of government-issued identification is also required, such as a driver's license or passport.
    - Wait for an approval email to confirm your photo was accepted
    - Pick up your Eagle ID from the Eagle ID Office located in the Enrollment Services Center, McTarnaghan Hall 1st Floor

What to Bring

Students will need to have the following things during their orientation program:
- Your UIN (University Identification Number) -a nine digit number starting with 81.
- A pen or something to write with
- Something to take notes on such as a notebook or paper
- Your Eagle Email address and password
- Items for over night stay: twin-xl linens, pillow, blanket, comfortable shoes and clothing for participating in late-night activities, water bottle, umbrella/jacket in case of rain, toiletries, etc..
