Physics Minor
Admission Requirements
- Students must meet with a college advisor/student success counselor to declare a minor and review the course requirements.
Additional Graduation Requirements
- A grade of C or higher is required in all courses for the minor.
- A minimum of 12 credits of the minor must be completed at FGCU.
- Students desiring certification of a minor and designation on their academic transcript must:
- Note the minor on the Application for Graduation.
- Contact a college advisor/student success counselor to certify completion of all course requirements for the declared minor as listed below.

PHY 2048L General Physics I Laboratory (1)
PHY 2049 General Physics II (3)

Complete 9 credits from the following:
AST 3211 Essentials of Astrophysics (3)
PHY 3101 Intro. to Modern Physics (3)
PHY 3221 Intermediate Mechanics (4)**
PHY 3323 Electricity and Magnetism I (3)**
PHY 3513 Thermal-Statistical Physics (3)
PHY 4151C Computational Physics (3)
PHY 4604 Introduction to Quantum Theory (3)
PHY 4905 Directed Independent Study (1-3)*
PHY 4910 Directed Independent Research (1-3)*
*A maximum number of 3 credits combined from these courses can be used to fulfill the minor requirement.
